Kitchen Cabinet Painting In Asheville

"A new kitchen doesn't have to mean new cabinets! Asheville's Passion Painters specializes in making your existing cabinets look brand-new" Though sadly many people don't like their cabinets and feel the cost of replacing or refacing is just not in their budget. Most often, it is just the color that is a drawback of the cabinets. With cabinet painting your current cabinets can be updated to your personalized design in days with a fine smooth finish.

8 Steps To New Cabinets

1. Remove doors and drawers
To begin, our crew numbers your doors and drawers so we know exactly where each one goes. Even if all the drawers look the same, there may be slight differences that can cause issues once you put your freshly painted cabinetry back together.
2. Wash and prep
This is the most important step we don't overlook it. Thoroughly we wash all areas that we plan to paint with a good cleaner, degreaser or an emulsifying dish soap. Rinse with clean water and let it dry before we continue to the next step. We then mask or tape off your cabinet box we recommend to only paint the face and interior edges of your cabinetry.
3. Scuff sand
We then scuff sand your cabinetry to create a surface profile that will better help the primer adhere. If there are any holes or imperfections, we patch them with quality wood putty or filler and then sand down to create a smooth surface. Wipe the sanding dust off the cabinets with a damp rag and clean water and let dry.
4. Prime
We then spray oil based primer as the first top coat on doors and drawers as well as the frame.
5. Fine sand
Once the primer has dried, we use a very fine-grit sandpaper and scuff sand to get rid of any bumps, grooves, lint or dust that has appeared on your cabinetry.
6. Apply the finish
We apply a topcoat using our airless sprayer with a fine finish spray tip.
7. Apply another coat
Go over doors, drawers, and the frame once more, paying extra attention to the areas that need it the most.
8. Let dry and reconstruct
We then allow atleast 24 hours of dry time- the longer the better. After that is complete we are finished! And so are the cabinets. We proceed to reconstruct and clean up so you can enjoy your freshly painted cabinets!
